JobTread Alternative: Jobtable vs JobTread
Last updated 3 September 2026. All JobTread prices taken from jobtread.com/pricing on that date, including its own user calculator, and listed in USD.
JobTread is construction management software built for home builders, remodelers and general contractors. It is $199/month including one internal user, with each additional user from $20. Jobtable is $59/month for three users and is built for trade contractors. Both sell one plan with every feature in it. The real difference is who the product is shaped for, and what that costs you if you are not that company.
Why trade contractors look for JobTread alternatives
JobTread is a good product and it prices honestly, with a calculator on its own website and no sales call required to get a number. Nobody leaves because the software is bad.
They leave because of fit. JobTread's own site lists its audience as home builders, remodelers, pool builders, outdoor living and commercial contractors. The product is built around that work: client selections and allowances, estimating takeoffs, bid requests to subs, sub and vendor billing, AIA payment applications. If you run a plumbing or electrical company, none of those are things you do, and you are paying $199 a month before your second employee for a toolset built around somebody else's business.
How much does JobTread cost?
JobTread publishes its pricing, which puts it ahead of most of the category. The base is $199/month billed monthly, or $159/month billed annually at $1,908 for the year, and that includes one internal user. Additional internal users are tiered.
| Internal users | Monthly plan | Annual plan |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Included | Included |
| 2 to 10 | $20 each | $16 each |
| 11 to 20 | $15 each | $12 each |
| 21 to 30 | $10 each | $8 each |
| 31 and up | $5 each | $4 each |
Vendors, subcontractors and customers get portal access at no charge and do not count as internal users. For a builder coordinating twenty subs on a custom home, that is a genuinely good structure and worth saying plainly.
What a crew actually pays
| Crew size | Jobtable, monthly | Jobtable, annual | JobTread, monthly | JobTread, annual |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 user | $59 | $50 | $199 | $159 |
| 3 users | $59 | $50 | $239 | $191 |
| 5 users | $79 | $67 | $279 | $223 |
| 10 users | $129 | $108 | $379 | $303 |
| 20 users | $229 | $192 | $529 | $423 |
The gap is widest at the size most trade businesses actually are. A three-person shop pays $59 against $239 month to month, which is $708 a year against $2,868. It narrows as you grow, because JobTread's per-user rate drops at 11, 21 and 31 users while ours stays flat at $10. By thirty people the difference is under two times.
Worth being straight about one thing: JobTread sells a single plan with every feature included, exactly as we do. There is no tier to upgrade to and no feature held back for a higher plan. The comparison here is scope and price, not a pricing trick.
Where JobTread is the better choice
If you build houses, JobTread is very likely the right answer and we are not. These are the things it does that we do not attempt.
Choose JobTread if
- You are a home builder or remodeler running client selections and allowances on every project.
- You estimate from takeoffs and a cost catalog, and send bid requests out to subs.
- You bill through AIA payment applications, which commercial work usually requires.
- You coordinate a lot of subs and vendors. Unlimited free portal users is a real advantage and we have no equivalent.
- You order materials through Home Depot, SRS Distribution, QXO or PoolCorp, all of which JobTread integrates with directly.
- You want a Customer Success Manager and hands-on implementation included rather than setting it up yourself.
Choose Jobtable if
- You are a trade contractor, not a builder. Plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roofing.
- You are paying for selections, allowances and takeoffs you have never opened.
- You want to try the software before you pay for it. JobTread does not offer a free trial.
- Your jobs are measured in days and weeks rather than a build cycle.
- Your crew is under ten people, where the price gap is at its widest.
- Your team gave up on the last system because there was too much of it.

The half of JobTread that is missing from that table is the half built for builders: estimating takeoffs, cost catalogs, bid requests, client selections and allowances, specifications, warranty management and AIA applications. If those are your week, this comparison is not a close call and JobTread wins it.
Who built it
Jobtable did not start life as a software product. It started as an internal tool inside a plumbing company that two of our co-founders still run today. They built it because what they were paying for did not match how the work actually happened, and they ran the business on it while it grew from two people to more than thirty. It only became something we sold after other contractors asked to use it.
That is also why we are not trying to be JobTread. The company it was built inside runs trade work, so the product solves trade problems and stops there.
Switching from JobTread to Jobtable
We handle the migration for you and we do not charge for it. Your clients, quotes, jobs and invoices come across, including the line items inside them. You pull the exports out of JobTread, send them over, and we load everything into your account and hand it back for you to check before you cancel anything.
Two things to plan around. Cost catalogs, takeoff data and selection records have no equivalent in Jobtable, so export those separately while you still have access. And if any of your subs or customers rely on a JobTread portal, tell them before you move, because Jobtable does not have a vendor portal to replace it with.
What contractors say after switching
Frequently asked questions
Who are JobTread's main competitors?
JobTread is usually weighed against Buildertrend, CoConstruct, Procore and Contractor Foreman, all aimed at builders and general contractors. Trade contractors comparing it usually end up looking at Jobber, Housecall Pro and Jobtable instead, because the builder toolset is not what their work needs.
How much does JobTread cost?
JobTread is $199/month billed monthly, or $159/month billed annually at $1,908 a year, and that includes one internal user. Additional internal users are $20/month each for users 2 to 10, $15 for 11 to 20, $10 for 21 to 30 and $5 beyond that, with lower rates on annual billing. Vendors, subcontractors and customers get portal access at no charge. Figures read from jobtread.com/pricing on 3 September 2026.
Does JobTread offer a free trial?
No. JobTread states it does not offer free trials because every client is assigned a Customer Success Manager and the company invests in implementation and training, which free trials would stretch too thin. Monthly subscriptions carry a 30-day money-back guarantee instead. Jobtable offers 14 days free with no credit card.
Is JobTread good for trade contractors?
It can be, but it is built for builders. JobTread's own site lists home builders, remodelers, pool builders, outdoor living and commercial contractors as its primary audience, and the product is shaped around selections, allowances, takeoffs, bid requests, sub billing and AIA payment applications. A plumbing or HVAC company will use a fraction of that while paying for all of it.
What is a cheaper alternative to JobTread?
Jobtable is $59/month for three users, or $600/year, with additional users at $10/month. At three people that is $59 against JobTread's $239. The trade-off is scope: JobTread does estimating takeoffs, selections, allowances, AIA applications and unlimited free vendor portals that Jobtable does not offer.
Is Jobtable a replacement for JobTread?
For a trade contractor running quotes, schedules, job costs, change orders, progress billing and invoicing, yes. For a custom home builder managing client selections, allowances, subcontractor bidding and AIA draw applications, no. Those workflows are JobTread's core and Jobtable does not attempt them.
Can I move my data from JobTread to Jobtable?
Yes, and Jobtable does the migration for you at no charge. Clients, quotes, jobs and invoices are imported, including the line items inside them. You pull the exports out of JobTread, send them over, and Jobtable loads everything into your account for you to check. Cost catalogs, takeoff data and selection records have no equivalent in Jobtable, so export those separately before you cancel.
