Knowify Alternative: Jobtable vs Knowify
Last updated 3 September 2026. All Knowify prices and plan features taken from knowify.com/pricing on that date, using its own billing toggle and published feature table. USD.
Knowify is contract-work software for trade contractors, strongest on AIA pay applications and fixed-price contract billing. Its Core plan is $149/month billed monthly and covers one user. Job costing is not in Core, it starts on Advanced at $399/month. Jobtable is $59/month for three users with job costing included. If you run AIA draws on commercial contracts, Knowify does things Jobtable does not.
Why contractors look for Knowify alternatives
Knowify is a capable product and it competes for the same trade contractors we do: electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting, concrete. This is a closer comparison than most on this site.
Two things send people looking. The first is the jump between plans. Core covers one user, and the next plan up is built for ten. The second is what sits on the far side of that jump: job costing, daily logs, project budgets and the client portal are all Advanced features, so the tools a growing contractor reaches for are not in the plan he started on.
How much does Knowify cost?
| Plan | Billed monthly | Billed yearly | Users included |
|---|---|---|---|
| Core | $149/mo | $99/mo | 1 |
| Advanced | $399/mo | $329/mo | 10 |
| Enterprise | Talk to us, no published price | Unlimited | |
Two add-ons sit on top. Service Pro, which covers dispatching, service assets and maintenance agreements, is $99/month. Live Equipment Tracking is $25 per vehicle per month. Inventory management is a paid extra on Core and Advanced and included on Enterprise.
Knowify's pricing page does not publish a per-user or per-seat rate. Core states one user and Advanced states ten, with nothing in between. If you have three or four people, that is worth settling with Knowify directly before you commit, because the published prices do not answer it.
What a crew actually pays
Because there is no published seat rate between the two plans, the comparison below shows the cheapest Knowify plan that covers the crew size on its published terms.
| Crew size | Jobtable, monthly | Jobtable, annual | Knowify, monthly | Knowify, yearly |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 user | $59 | $50 | $149 (Core) | $99 |
| 3 users | $59 | $50 | No published seat rate | No published seat rate |
| 10 users | $129 | $108 | $399 (Advanced) | $329 |
| Job costing included | Yes, at $59 | Yes, at $50 | Advanced, from $399 | Advanced, from $329 |
That last row is the one that matters most. Job costing is the reason most contractors buy software in the first place, and on Knowify it sits on the second plan. A contractor on Core who wants to know whether a job made money is looking at $399 a month to find out, against $59 here.
Where Knowify is the better choice
Knowify does several things properly that Jobtable does not do at all. If any of these describe your work, it is the stronger product and price should not decide it.
Choose Knowify if
- You bill through AIA pay applications on G702 and G703 forms. Knowify includes these on every plan and Jobtable has no equivalent.
- You issue subcontracts and manage subs formally, with a client portal for the owner.
- You need RFIs, submittals and document markup, which sit on Knowify's Enterprise plan.
- You want real-time WIP reporting, prevailing wage handling, or inventory and equipment management in the same system.
- You run a service department and want dispatching bolted onto contract work through Service Pro.
Choose Jobtable if
- You want job costing without it being the reason to move up a plan.
- You have three or four people and the published plans jump from one user to ten.
- You do residential and light commercial work where AIA forms never come up.
- You want daily logs and project tracking included rather than held back for the second tier.
- You want to add your fourth person for $10 rather than change plans.
- Your team wants fewer screens, not more capability.

The QuickBooks question
Knowify leans heavily on QuickBooks, connecting to QuickBooks Online, Time, Payroll and Payments, and to QuickBooks Desktop on Enterprise. If your bookkeeper lives in QuickBooks Desktop rather than Online, that matters and Jobtable will not help you.
For QuickBooks Online the two are closer than the plan tables suggest. Jobtable syncs clients, quotes, invoices, payments, expenses and taxes into QuickBooks Online on the standard plan. Our QuickBooks for contractors page covers how the two systems split the work.
Who built it
Jobtable did not start life as a software product. It started as an internal tool inside a plumbing company that two of our co-founders still run today. They built it because what they were paying for did not match how the work actually happened, and they ran the business on it while it grew from two people to more than thirty. It only became something we sold after other contractors asked to use it.
That is why job costing, progress draws, change orders and daily logs are all in the one plan. They were not features to tier. They were the things that needed doing on Monday.
Switching from Knowify to Jobtable
We handle the migration for you and we do not charge for it. Your clients, quotes, jobs and invoices come across, including the line items inside them. You pull the exports out of Knowify, send them over, and we load everything into your account and hand it back for you to check before you cancel anything.
One thing to settle first. If you have open AIA contracts running through Knowify, finish billing those where they are. Jobtable does not produce G702 and G703 forms, so mid-contract is the wrong time to move. Start the switch on new work and let the existing draws run out.
What contractors say after switching
Frequently asked questions
Who are Knowify's main competitors?
Knowify competes with Contractor Foreman, JobTread, Buildertrend, Jobber and Jobtable, and its own site lists comparisons against BuildOps, Contractor Foreman, Jobber, JobTread and ServiceTitan. Trade contractors weighing it usually care about two things: whether they need AIA pay applications, which Knowify does well, and what the software costs once they have a crew.
How much does Knowify cost?
Knowify's Core plan is $149/month billed monthly, or $99/month billed yearly, and includes one user. Advanced is $399/month monthly or $329/month yearly and includes ten users. Enterprise has no published price and includes unlimited users. Service Pro is a $99/month add-on and Live Equipment Tracking is $25 per vehicle per month. Figures read from knowify.com/pricing on 3 September 2026.
Does Knowify include job costing?
Not on its entry plan. Knowify's published feature table lists job costing as unavailable on Core and available on Advanced and Enterprise. Advanced starts at $329/month billed yearly, or $399 billed monthly. Real-time WIP reporting, project budgets, daily logs and the client portal follow the same pattern. Jobtable includes job costing in its single $59/month plan.
What does Knowify cost for a crew of three or four?
Knowify's pricing page does not answer this. Core states one user and Advanced states ten, with no per-seat rate published in between. If your crew falls in that range, ask Knowify directly rather than assuming a figure, because the published prices do not cover it. Jobtable is $59/month for three users and $10/month for each user after that.
Is Jobtable a replacement for Knowify?
For quoting, scheduling, job costing, change orders, progress billing, daily logs and invoicing, yes, and at a lower price with no plan tiers. For AIA pay applications on G702 and G703 forms, no. Knowify includes those on every plan and Jobtable does not produce them. Subcontracts, RFIs and submittals are also Knowify features without a Jobtable equivalent.
Does Knowify work with QuickBooks?
Yes, and it is a genuine strength. Knowify connects to QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Time, QuickBooks Online Payroll and QuickBooks Payments on every plan, and to QuickBooks Desktop on Enterprise. Jobtable syncs clients, quotes, invoices, payments, expenses and taxes to QuickBooks Online, but does not support QuickBooks Desktop.
Can I move my data from Knowify to Jobtable?
Yes, and Jobtable does the migration for you at no charge. Clients, quotes, jobs and invoices are imported, including the line items inside them. You pull the exports out of Knowify, send them over, and Jobtable loads everything in for you to check. If you have open AIA contracts, finish billing those in Knowify first, because Jobtable does not produce G702 and G703 forms.
