Workiz Alternative: Jobtable vs Workiz

Last updated 1 October 2026. Workiz plan structure and features taken from workiz.com/pricing-plans on that date. Workiz does not publish prices, so none are stated here.

Workiz is field service software built around a dispatch office, with a phone system, call recording and call tracking included on every plan. It sells three tiers and publishes no prices: Standard, Pro and Ultimate all say "Request pricing". Jobtable is $59/month for three users, published on the website, and is built for trade contractors running multi-stage jobs rather than a call-driven service desk.

Why contractors look for Workiz alternatives

Workiz does one thing that almost nobody else in this category does: it puts a real phone system inside the software. Call tracking, recording, masking and automated messaging come with every plan. For a business whose work arrives by phone and gets dispatched the same day, that is genuinely useful and worth paying for.

Contractors leave for two reasons. The first is that you cannot find out what it costs without talking to sales, which is a problem when you are trying to budget. The second is fit: if your jobs run for weeks rather than hours, the dispatch board and the call centre tooling are not what you needed, and you are paying for a phone system you already have.

How much does Workiz cost?

Workiz does not publish pricing. All three plans on its pricing page carry a "Request pricing" button rather than a figure, so the only way to get a number is to contact sales and have your business sized up first.

You will find figures quoted around the web. Treat them carefully: Workiz published prices in the past and third-party pages still repeat those older numbers, which is a good way to budget against a rate that no longer exists. The one dollar amount Workiz states on its own pricing page is in the billing FAQ, where it says an annual plan can save you "$400+" against monthly, without stating either rate.

What can be said from the page itself is the shape of the product.

Workiz published plan structure, from workiz.com/pricing-plans, 1 October 2026. No prices are published for any tier.
PlanPriceWhat it adds
StandardRequest pricingScheduling, invoices, jobs and estimates, online payments, service areas, built-in reports, client management, custom fields, subcontractor management, QuickBooks integration. Capped at 5 automations.
ProRequest pricingEverything in Standard, plus performance pay, Genius leads, Genius scheduling and custom reports. Capped at 10 automations.
UltimateRequest pricingEverything in Pro, plus service plans, sales proposals, inventory management, flat rate, checklists, multi-day jobs, franchise management, open API, equipment tracking and purchase orders. Capped at 30 automations.

Two things in that table are worth a second look. Automations are capped by tier rather than unlimited, at 5, 10 and 30. And multi-day jobs sit on Ultimate, the top plan, which tells you a lot about who the product is shaped for.

Jobtable takes the opposite approach for a simple reason: at our size, publishing the price is the fastest way for someone to work out whether we are a fit. $59/month for three users, $10/month for each user after that, on the website, no call required.

Where Workiz is the better choice

Workiz has a real product with a clear audience, and for part of that audience we are not a serious alternative. If the following describes you, it is the stronger fit.

Choose Workiz if

  • Your work arrives by phone and the call is the start of the job. Workiz includes a built-in phone system on every plan, with call tracking, recording and masking. Jobtable has no equivalent.
  • You run a dispatch desk, sending techs to same-day calls across a service area.
  • You want to know which ads and sources your calls came from, tied to the job they turned into.
  • You need inventory management, equipment tracking or purchase orders inside the same system.
  • You run multiple locations or a franchise, which Workiz handles on its Ultimate plan.
  • You want flat-rate pricing books and sales proposals built into the quoting flow.

Choose Jobtable if

  • You want to know the price before you book a call with anyone.
  • Your jobs run for days or weeks, with draws and change orders, rather than being dispatched and closed the same afternoon.
  • You want job costing, progress billing, change orders and daily logs in one plan rather than spread across three tiers.
  • You already have phones sorted and do not want to pay for a phone system inside your job software.
  • Your crew is small and you want to add the fourth person for $10.
  • Multi-day jobs are most of your work, not a feature on the top plan.

Rows marked "not itemised" mean the feature does not appear by name in Workiz's published plan cards. Workiz may well handle it, and if one of those matters to you it is worth asking them directly rather than taking this table as the final word.

The phone system is the real difference

Most comparisons in this category come down to price per seat. This one does not, because the two products are built around different moments in a job.

Workiz starts at the call. The phone system is in every plan, calls are tracked and recorded, and the job gets dispatched from there. If you are running an HVAC or appliance repair business where the phone ringing is the beginning of the work, that is the right shape and you should not give it up to save money.

Jobtable starts at the quote. Someone asks for a price on work that will take a week, you quote it, the job runs with costs and change orders tracked against it, and you bill in draws. The phone matters, but it is not where the software earns its keep.

Who built it

Jobtable did not start life as a software product. It started as an internal tool inside a plumbing company that two of our co-founders still run today. They built it because what they were paying for did not match how the work actually happened, and they ran the business on it while it grew from two people to more than thirty. It only became something we sold after other contractors asked to use it.

That is why job costing, progress draws, change orders and daily logs are all in the one plan. They were not features to tier. They were the things that needed doing on Monday.

Switching from Workiz to Jobtable

We handle the migration for you and we do not charge for it. Your clients, quotes, jobs and invoices come across, including the line items inside them. You pull the exports out of Workiz, send them over, and we load everything into your account and hand it back for you to check before you cancel anything.

One thing to sort out before you move. If your business number lives inside the Workiz phone system, work out where it is going first, because Jobtable does not have a phone system to move it into. Our SMS add-on gives you a dedicated local number for texting, which is not the same as porting a main line. Get that settled, then switch.

Frequently asked questions

Who are Workiz's main competitors?

Workiz is usually weighed against Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, FieldPulse and Jobtable. Jobber and Housecall Pro sit closest on audience and features. ServiceTitan targets larger operations. Jobtable is aimed at trade contractors running multi-stage jobs rather than phone-driven dispatch, and publishes its price at $59/month for three users.

How much does Workiz cost?

Workiz does not publish pricing. Its pricing page lists three plans, Standard, Pro and Ultimate, and each one carries a "Request pricing" button instead of a figure, so you have to contact sales to get a number. The only dollar amount on the page is in its billing FAQ, which says an annual plan can save "$400+" against monthly without stating either rate. Figures quoted elsewhere online are often older published prices that no longer apply. Checked 1 October 2026.

Does Workiz offer a free trial?

Yes, Workiz offers a 7-day free trial with no credit card required. Jobtable offers 14 days free, also with no credit card.

What is Workiz's phone system?

Workiz includes a built-in phone system on every plan, covering call tracking, call recording, call masking and automated messaging, so customer calls are handled inside the platform rather than through a separate service. It is the clearest thing Workiz has that Jobtable does not. Jobtable offers a two-way SMS add-on at $19/month with a dedicated local number, which handles texting but is not a phone system.

Is Jobtable a replacement for Workiz?

For quoting, scheduling, job costing, change orders, progress billing, daily logs, timesheets and invoicing, yes, at a published price with no plan tiers. For a phone-driven dispatch operation, no. Workiz's phone system, call tracking and dispatch tooling have no Jobtable equivalent, and inventory, equipment tracking and franchise management are Workiz features we do not offer.

What is a cheaper alternative to Workiz?

Jobtable publishes $59/month for three users, or $600/year, with additional users at $10/month. Because Workiz does not publish prices, no direct comparison can be made without a quote from them. What can be compared is the model: one Jobtable plan with every feature included against three Workiz tiers with automations capped at 5, 10 and 30 and features like multi-day jobs and the open API reserved for the top plan.

Can I move my data from Workiz to Jobtable?

Yes, and Jobtable does the migration for you at no charge. Clients, quotes, jobs and invoices are imported, including the line items inside them. You pull the exports out of Workiz, send them over, and Jobtable loads everything in for you to check. If your business phone number runs through the Workiz phone system, sort out where that number is going before you move, because Jobtable does not have a phone system to port it into.
